The Story

Hult is a personal project inspired by my love for watches, where I bring together my interests in design, craftsmanship, and history.

Since I was a little kid, watches have fascinated me. Watching mechanical watches wind themselves, carrying centuries of history, mesmerized the young me. Throughout my life, I've collected various watches, starting with my first at the age of 5. Excitement about the world led me to forget bathroom breaks, and the Casio Alarm Chrono W-71 became my trusty reminder. I cherished it so much that it rarely left my wrist until it finally gave in to the wear and tear of playground adventures. It was the perfect beginning to my watch obsession. This early experience ignited a lifelong obsession, leading me to explore and appreciate a variety of watch styles over the past 25 years, with a particular appreciation for smaller, compact designs.

What began as a personal journey to design the perfect vintage-inspired diver's watch has grown into a mission to craft timepieces for those who appreciate detail, quality, and history. At Hult Watch Company, we cater to those who admire the beauty of smaller watches and the understated elegance that defines true craftsmanship. Our philosophy is to bridge past, present, and future through thoughtfully designed timepieces. With a focus on vintage-inspired aesthetics and modern precision, each watch is crafted to be timeless, personal, and accessible, ready to seamlessly integrate into your life and accompany you on all your adventures.

So why the name Hult?

When I started this brand, I wanted a name that reflected one of my core ideas, creating thoughtfully designed watches in smaller, more compact formats, while also connecting to my philosophy of bridging past, present, and future through carefully crafted timepieces.

Hult is a small village area in Askim, just south of Gothenburg and it’s where I grew up. It’s not a well-known place, and there isn’t much written about it. But traces of life in the area go back thousands of years, from ancient Bronze Age rock carvings to land records from the 1500s. In more recent times, it became home to craftsmen, shipbuilders, and working-class families who lived close to nature.

The name reflects everything the brand is about. Like the place itself, the watches are small, simple, and carefully made. And just like Hult, they’re connected to history — quietly bringing the past and present together in a meaningful way.
